still waiting....

Well, now that Governor Arnold's "reforms: are watered down significantly so he can still claim victory even though he's being thumped by special interests (that would be active PTA parents), I am still waiting for IUSD school board member Michael Parham to answer a question I asked weeks ago..mainly, "how much more money would IUSD get should the governor's education reform ballot measure pass." No answer. He's either forgotten or he just doesn't know. And if he doesn't know, then shame on him for signing something based on pure partisanship.

Missing Palm Springs

No Hannity. No Rush. No Colmes. And no Ted Kennedy (thanks for emailing me Mark), though I would buy the senior Senator from Massachusetts a drink for peering down my wife's shirt when she interviewed him once (during her days at the Quincy Patriot Ledger). As I told Dawn then, "Hon, he's a Kennedy and he has a heartbeat. What did you expect?" I got even by spying Rep. Loretta Sanchez's toe cleavage during a meeting a former company of mine had with her two years ago (now where is thast photo of Loretta and I?).

Many thanks to our friends the Greenman's for hosting us at their condo/timeshare. Our boys get along so well together.

What a blast.

Palm Desert

It's school Spring Break for the kids and Dawn and I are joining the Greenman's in Palm Desert. Free WiFi and Free Sunshine! Life doesn't get better than this!

If I see Rush or Sean H, I'm pushing them in the pool.

still waiting

I've emailed both Michael Parham, IUSD school board member, and John Campbell, state senator who represents Irvine, for explanations on how Arnold's, a-hem, the Governor's "reform" proposals will bring more money to IUSD.

Of course I am still waiting.

Campbell's office lauded the Governor for his courage in taking on the status quo, battlling special interests, and for the claim that California will spend more than $10K per student. That said, I know IUSD would be thrilled to have half that. We're weighing in at about $4300 per student now....
